SYSA will be trialing a new Referee in Training program this Fall, designed for entry level referees to gain experience in refereeing soccer matches at the U6/U7 level.   Many referees take the 18 hours of formal USSF sponsored Grade 8 or Grade 9 referee training only to discover that refereeing is not for them or they do not have the time to referee as they had hoped.  This program will provide a “taste” of what refereeing is all about before the referee is required to obtain formal training to work the upper level games.

AGE/EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:  Before you sign up for games, please be sure to refer to the age/experience guidelines posted on page 1 of the Policies and Procedures document posted below, and/or follow personal guidance you may have received from the referee Assignor or Mentor.    

OTHER REMINDERS:  1) Refer to the Policies and Procedures document below (pages 8-9) for the Spring 2008 pay procedures.  2) Pay close attention to game times and field locations to avoid conflicts.
