This 5-6 hour class is taught by an ’A’ licensed coach from the State Association and covers:
Classroom/Theory: Philosophy of Coaching, Characteristics of Players at each age level, Team Administration, Risk Management, Care and Prevention of Injuries and Modified Laws of the Game.
Field/Practical: Age Appropriate Field Activities and Progression of activities through the practice session. In these sessions, the instructor will actually work with kids in the age level that you are coaching, while you watch and ask questions.

Coaches of Older Age Groups: There are "E" Coaching Certificate Courses being held at a variety of locations.
This is a 18 hour course to prepare coaches working with players U-11 and older by expanding their knowledge and understanding of the technical and tactical demands of the game and the development process necessary for players these ages. It is typically split up over a Friday evening, and then several hours on Sat and Sunday. This course is absoultely fantastic and includes:
Classroom / Theory: Methods of Coaching, Team Management, Tactics, Laws of the Game, and Care and Prevention of Injuries. Field / Practical: Dribbling, Passing, Receiving, Shooting, Heading, Goalkeeping, Defending, and Attacking.
Dates and locations offered include: August 8, 9, 10, 2008 - Stafford August 15, 16, 17, 2008 - Warrenton August 22, 23, 24, 2008 - Springfield August 23, 24, 2008 - Prince William Co. September 5, 6, 7, 2008 - Vienna
