Sterling Thunder 97 Boys Travel Team was formed by the Sterling Youth Soccer Association (SYSA) in 2006.  The team is coached by Mike Edwards and Jim Coulter.  Team manager is Paul Challis.  We are currently competing in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL).   Next season will be expanding to an 8v8 format.  We are looking for a full time keeper and additional players that like to compete and have fun.  We have numerous players that are members of other sport teams and we are flexible with our scheduling.

Thunder Philosophy:
We emphasize doing your best and being a team player.   We build cohesion through activities on and off the field.  We set goals for the individual and team.  Our measurement of success is based on those criteria, not wins.  We focus on increasing player skills through our coaching staff, scrimmages, games and a professional trainer—we play with a mixture of Brazilian control and British long ball styles.  Travel Soccer is competitive, but we welcome parent involvement and feedback.
